Fernanda Dubiel, is a talented dancer from Brazil with Polish ancestry. In 2024 Fernanda qualified to compete in Champion division, after competing in AllStar for only 18 months. Fernanda's dedication extends beyond personal achievements. She embraces the excitement of competition, the joy of performing, and the transformative power of dance. To her, dance holds the key to positive change in the world. Fernanda Dubiel is a down-to-earth and positive individual who loves social dancing. Her uplifting attitude and ability to uplift those around her make her a valued member of the dance community. She discovered her passion for dance at age 6. Starting with ballet, and not very long after that she explored tango, Brazilian zouk, and various other styles like cha-cha, samba, bachata, and salsa. At age 9, she fell in love with West Coast Swing, and when she was 10 she started learning English to be able to speak with Jordan and Tatiana. Seeking growth and new experiences, Fernanda moved to Lyon, France, at the age of 16, immersing herself in West Coast Swing and expanding her understanding of French culture. Currently living in Poland and travelling the world as a West Coast Swing teacher, coach and judge. She already travelled to 35 countries and is looking forward to teach in The Netherlands for the first time and to get to know the Dutch West Coast Swing community

We use a set of criteria for every level to make sure everybody in that level is at the same standard. This way every student in that class knows that the other students are at the same level. So they know they can keep up and they can help to grow the other students too.
You completed at least the Essentials Intro I course and ideally took at least 4 Intro II classesYou have a basic understanding of elasticity, 6- and 8-count timing, and know how to dance the basic patterns (push, pass, whip) If you don't meet these requirements please contact Miranda for a skill assessment before you register!
You have achieved the minimum skills required in the skills assessment for Discovering levelYou have significant experience with elasticity, standard patterns, footwork, body pulse, and turns. And you are familiar dancing Left Side Pass, Under arm Turn, Sugar Push and Whip including some basic variations! If you not a regular studens at Dutch Westie Academy please contact Miranda for a skill assessment before you register!
