Miranda is a trained West Coast Swing teacher and Advanced level dancer from The Netherland. She believes in continuous learning, in acquiring knowledge and competencies in order to expand your skill set and to develop future opportunities. She is highly motivated to share her knowledge and experience with others. Her goal is to help grow the Dutch West Coast Swing community and to help dancers achieve their personal dance goals. In her classes she uses a skills-first approach with patterns/figures to learn how to apply them. This helps her students in the long term with progress in their dance development. She was introduced to West Coast Swing in the summer of 2016 and was fascinated by the possibilities of creativity and improvisation that both leaders and followers have in this dance. She has a background in gymnastics and ballroom dancing. She also took classes in various other dance styles such as Lindy Hop, Salsa, Contemporary, Hip Hop and pole dancing. Miranda dances both the role of follower and leader, which gives her a good understanding of the mechanics of dance from the perspective of both leading and following. Since 2017, she regularly travels to workshop weekends worldwide to take (private)classes from the world's best teachers, to train and to compete to further develop herself as a dancer, teacher and coach.Miranda started teaching in 2019. She has been certified as a teacher in the Swing Literacy method since August 2020. She regularly attends teacher training courses and intensives to further develop herself as a teacher and a coach. This way she can always provide her students with the latest developments and trends in this modern swing dance.
